Speechless

First they ban Blogs. If that wasn't bad enough, the bureaucrats - who get paid by taxes people like me pay at the rate of 33%, deducted at source - have the temerity to say "We would like those people to come forward who access these (the 12) radical websites and please explain to us what are they missing from their lives in the absence of these sites."

You f~!@#$% morons! Ever read the 'Objectives Resolution' of the Indian Constitution? The part where it says that "All people of India shall be guaranteed and secured social, economic and political justice; equality of status and opportunities before law; and fundamental freedoms - of talk, expression, belief, faith, worship, vocation, association and action - subject to law and public morality"?

What would you babus propose next? Filter search results like our neighbour? I agree with Ravi Mohan. It is time to think about leaving.

I managed to get more of a full story through your links, and, for the first time, Ravi Mohan's blog.
Still not sure wether it is just selected "anti-Indian" sites blocked or all of Blogspot.
(I seem to be able to read and post comments on a blog in Delhi for instance, he posted a new one today)
I find it hard to believe that this is a serious attempt to stop terrorists communicating, a child could see it will not be effective. I suspect some form of getting a better deal out of Google.
Although this has made you mad Manoj don't give up on your country. I tell you the grass is not much greener here in the "free" west.
